Despite its smaller size—compared to the broadcast lobbying group’s major annual convention in April — NAB Show New York continues to showcase the best in next-generation technology for media, entertainment and telecom professionals with conferences and workshops focused on television, film, satellite, online video, live events, podcasting, advertising, corporate A/V, production and post. Of the approximately 300 exhibitors at the show, 51 exhibited for the first time, suggesting an increasing interest in this New York regional gathering.

In its 50th anniversary, IBC2017 has confirmed a year-on-year increase in visitor numbers, marking a record attendance of 57,669 across the six day event. Visitors from across the expanding media ecosystem had the opportunity to learn about the opportunities offered by technologies – including social media TV, OTT, VR, AR, Cloud, IP, Bots and 5G – and to meet the most intelligent robots.
Visitors to the 15 exhibition halls witnessed many exciting new launches; Launch Pad grew year-on-year with a record number of exhibitors; the Future Reality Theatre and Content Everywhere Hub free programmes were packed with diverse and new exciting content, embracing the transformation.
Tencent has launched its biggest eSports competition for Honor of Kings in 2017, the King Pro League. The 2017 season follows in the footsteps of the 2016 season, which was watched by more than 70 million people. Tencent is aiming to build a better esports ecosystem allowing for more teams, more players, increased marketing, celebrity hosts and more. Tencent is also using this season to create a better structure for the King Pro League to fully legitimize the game as an eSport and to grow the overall games industry.

2017 NAB Show Attendance Surpasses 103,000
Las Vegas, NV — The National Association of Broadcasters announced today preliminary registered attendance of 103,443 for the 2017 NAB Show, the world’s largest annual convention encompassing the convergence of media, entertainment and technology. The exhibition featured 1,806 companies spanning 1,091,792 net square feet of exhibit space.
